Boat Trip on Spree II

Today we went on a boat trip with Captain Bob and his dog Matey on the boat Spree II. I am still far from a boat person, so I cannot tell you anything in nautical terms. I can tell you that we did a lot of snorkeling which was a blast. I really loved Christmas Cove which was very clear and allowed you to see a lot of different things! I think I am a long way from wanting to live on a boat, but I can certainly see the appeal of the water.

Beach Bodies

I love hiking down to Solomon and Honeymoon beaches and I talk visitors into loving them as well with some frequency. I think Jen, Michi and Ryan made about 3 trips down to this particular beach. The first time they found some guys doing push ups on the beach, Ryan captured them on Jen's camera and then told her why it took so long to get her picture. The next day they reenacted it on their own. I tried making fun of the beach push up guys that night to the bartender when they showed me the picture. His response, "Oh yeah running down to Solomon is a great work out." I guess you have to keep the beach bod some how. Maybe when I work my way up to being able to do 10 push ups, I'll do them on the beach as well!

Fried Food and Shamrocks

I have often thought that I am so fortunate to have such a cool day as my birthday. Those feelings were confirmed once again this St. Patrick's Day, as three of my amazing friends were on St. John to celebrate. After a great day touring the island and chilling at the beach, we had a great night as well. Starting with tap beers at Tap Room continuing with fried food at Woody's. Obviously, some Jameson at Castaways and then moving onto beach beers at Beach Bar. It was a wonderful birthday.

End of the Road

I am used to living in the middle of the country where you never get to the end of anything. On the other hand, I certainly walked to the edges of Manhattan all the time. However, you could never do it without passing a million other people. It is much different on an island with a population of 4,500. With my friends Jen, Michi and Ryan visiting, we went ALL the way to the other side of the island and ended up at the end of 10. It did not look much different than the entire road to get there. It still felt like an accomplishment though!

Seriously?

I spent my first month in paradise on my aunt and uncle's couch. I spent the second month in a converted office space. However, with a nice camera and an incredible sunset, this apartment would not be a hard sell at all!

Sexy Snorkeling?

Does anyone look good in a snorkel mask? Well if anyone can pull it off it would be Kumi and Jen. At this time, I was so unsettled with work, my new apartment and all my visitors that I did not take any good pictures of me and Kumi during her visit. So this picture of them right before snorkeling at Maho will have to do.
